In the words of Morpheus from The Matrix movie … “Welcome to the real world”
Our business and passion here at Real World is presentation design, but we are vitally interested in not just the design of visuals per se, but in the effectiveness of those presentations from a holistic 360 degree view.
So as interesting to us as the look of the slides are all the other aspects of the presentation. Presenter specific issues like body language, tone & verbal delivery have a huge impact, what about inspirations for new ideas on content and concepts. What can we learn and apply to our own work from high profile examples like TED and other widely acclaimed keynotes ?
One topic very dear to our hearts is that of technology in presentations. How it’s used …. and how it’s more often misused resulting in a great decrease in presentation effectiveness.
Over the course of this blog we’ll be examining both best and worst case examples of presentations. Some will be drawn from our own work, some will be plucked from the ether of internet. We’ll look at trends and technologies impacting the art of one-to-many communication and ask how they might be helping or hurting the process.
We hope you find the journey as exciting and rewarding as we do.
